‘Angry Asian Man’ Released

After a long editing processing, the music video for 'Angry Asian Man' is finally out! Decipher's song really struck a chord with us so immediately it was the video that we wanted to play with.

The video focuses on the stereotypes a lot of Asian Americans face. Some of it is not outright racism, but can be naivety and ignorance. Those actions can leave a deep impression on an individual and we wanted to show that through the video. It's obviously exaggerated, but we had hoped to capture the effect of adults on the perceptions of children. It's one way stereotypes are born. Do we ever realize how much we do or say has an effect on children?

This was a fun video to work on and the kids did an amazing job. Check out the song and video (featuring Manifest and DJ Zo)!

Commercial Video? We do those too!

Do we do commercials? Yes we do!!! This Sunday we actually shot a 30 second spec commercial for a retail food product. The shoot went off great even though we had a rocky start. No chairs were delivered (I don't believe you got pulled over. At least you could have called) and we had a delay. But the cast, crew, and extras were all great and went above and beyond staying with us. Best of all, we got to reconnect with some of our favorite actors and cameraman!

Day One of Jason Min’s Music Video Shoot

We started rolling on Jason Min's music video. We had it all planned out to shoot in a beautiful park in beautiful weather. Well.... it sort of worked, but it was freaking cold. For the first time in history Philadelphia had snowfall in October!!! So even though we wanted fall weather, it was a very brisk winter day. However the shoot still went off despite the snow, mud, and extremely cold feet. Thank God for hand warmers!

We'll be shooting the 2nd part of the music video in December so another cold day for us! Good thing Jason Min keeps us warm!

‘One Day’ Released!

Descendant helped to produce this video by Jennifer Chung! It was all shot in one day surprisingly, but it was a great day! Great singer, talented cast, phenomenal crew!

‘One Day’ Wrapped in One Day

Erik and Franklin were in Los Angeles for a wedding. Upon landing, the two ran got picked up by Daniel Zhao for a late night meal and bumped into Jennifer Chung. After some chit chat and a quick idea meeting, the team decided to see if we could shoot a music video for Jennifer Chung later in the week. Well, it happened! It's done! The team came up with a great idea, organized real quickly, and shot some great footage all in one day. Now we just have to edit it and then her fans will get to see her first official music video for her new album!

Here's a sneak peak from Marshall Bang who did an amazing job with her hair and wardrobe!

We've created a more user friendly portfolio section so you can get a better feel of what we've been working on as well as finally letting you see some of the people who are working behind the scenes at Descendant Films.
